Musician's Club Slates Program

The Musicians Club, 303 Minorca Ave., will resume its Sunday afternoon musical-tea program Sunday, Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. Tea follows the program. The public is invited. bor Yusti, Belgian pianist, will play works of Beethoven, Chopin, Ravel and Kabalewsky.

Gableite J. M. Vroon Named Keyes President

J. M. Vroon, Gableite and long-time executive of the Keyes real estate organization, has been promoted from vice president to president of Keyes Realty Cos. of Miami. He and Mrs. Vroon, who have three daughters, live at 1541 Salvatierra Dr. Kenneth S. Keyes, founder of the company and who simultaneously moved up to chairman of the board, said of Vroon's promotion: "As vice president and treasurer of our firm, he has for many years supervised the full operation of our companies in my absence . . . It is logical, therefore, that Mr. Vroon step up to the presidency of the company at a time when we are blueprinting its future growth and expansion." Vroon, 56, is a native of Holland and came to this country as a youth. Reared in Michigan, he moved to Miami in 1934 and joined the Keyes organization as treasurer in 1947.

Twenty Gables Students Are Scholarship Finalists

Twenty Coral Gables High School students have been selected semifinalists in the 1961-62 National Merit Scholarship program, principal Harry N. Rath said Wednesday. The students are eligible for the finals out of which the winners will be awarded four-year scholarships to the college of their choice. Ten thousand were selected nation-wide from 15,000 high schools, giving Coral Gables High School a high average. Here are the semifinalists: Barry Boyer, Harris B. Brown, Jack Caplin, Martin Cohen, Stephen Dubrow, Jan Faber, Robert H. Frank, Michell Fruitstone, Edith Ann Genung, Carol Greenfield, Lee Groth, Roger Hess, Allen Imershein, Michael Mac Machtey, George R. McLain, Norbert J. Potts, David Rimland, David Tripp, Anthony Wasserman and James Young.

Bus Keys Are Ready

The next general meeting of the People to People Program, Inc., has been scheduled for (tomorrow) Friday, 4:30 p.m. at City Hall. Commissioners Tuesday approved the program's plan to solicit funds at various locations in Coral Gables. The keys to the vehicle will be presented to a Cartagena delegation at a dinner scheduled for next Wednesday at the Coral Gables Country Club, 7:30 p.m., preceded by a cocktail hour.
