Anna Claire Walker Marries Mr. Thagard

MRS. THAGARD On a Florida wedding trip are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rutherford Thagard, whose wedding took place Saturday at the University Baptist Church. The bride, the former Miss Anna Claire Walker is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Walker of 817 Lorca St. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Thagard of 711 Madiera Ave. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a wedding gown of Alencon lace over peau de soie, fashioned along princess lines. The fitted bodice and elbow length sleeves were designed in the lace and panels of the lace extended to the end of the chapel train. Her voluminous short illusion veil fell from a mother of pearl headpiece and she carried a bouquet of white Cattleya and Vanda orchids. Mrs. David Brown, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Robert Haberhern and Miss Imogene Stafford. They wore street-length gowns of gold peau de soie, matching shoes and headpieces of gold leaves and tulle. They carried bouquets of white feathered carnations and cymbidium orchids with accents of gold leaves. Donald Thagard, twin brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were David Brown, Charles Thagard, Merrill Matthews, Larry Chandler Allen, Jerry Hansen and Robert Haberhern. Dr. T. Rupert Coleman officiated at the 8 p.m. double ring ceremony and the reception followed in the church hall. Mother of the bride wore a silver green brocade sheath with side drape of green satin, matching accessories and Cymbidium orchids. Mother of the groom wore a blue and silver brocade with matching accessories and Vanda Orchid corsage. Among out-of-town relatives attending the wedding were the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Gertrude Harrell, and her aunt, Mrs. Winnie Lewis, both of Daytona Beach; Mrs. Anthony Ficarro, and Miss Diane Ficarro, and cousin of the birde from New York City. The bride was graduated from Coral Gables High school. The groom was graduated from Coral Gables High School, served two years in the U.S. Navy aboard an aircraft carrier and plans to enter the University of Miami in February.

Miss Kutner Will Marry Mr. Wieder

Mr. and Mrs. Norman S. Kutner, 7150 SW 62nd St., announce the engagement of their daughter, Karel Joyce, to Stanley M. Wieder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Wieder, 7095 Sunset Dr., Coral Gables. A June wedding is planned by the couple. The bride-elect was graduated from Southwest Miami High School where she was a member of the debating team, National Honor Society, Sigma Delta Phi council and the National Forensic League. She is a secretary in a Coral Gables law firm. Her fiance was graduated from Coral Gables High School, attended Palm Beach Junior College, the University of Florida and is attending the University of Maimi where he is majoring in accounting. It Was Stein But It's Irene

That wasn't "Gene" Stein at all who was one of 11 students named to the All-State Concert Orchestra recently. It's Irene Stein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stein, 445 Bianca Ave. She's a violinist and attends Coral Gables High School. Our correspondent there last week misidentified her in a story.

Patrick Is Engaged To Girl From Fort Pierce

MISS WHITAKER Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Whitaker of Fort Pierce are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Judith Adele, to Patrick B. Lally, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence G. Lally of 1410 Cantoria Ave. A spring wedding is planned by the couple. The bride-elect is a graduate of the Dan McCarty High School and attended the University of Florida. Her finance was graduated from Coral Gables High School and also attended the University of Florida. He is manager of "Your Bowling Lanes" in Jensen Beach.
