D. Richard Mead Jr., 6411 Castaneda St., has been appointed chairman of the Greater Miami region for the 13th annual Giving Campaign of the Harvard Business School, Boston. The alumni raise unrestricted expendable money to meet current operating costs of the school. The 1962 goal has been set for $500,000 to be collected by June 8, alumni day. ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ First Lieut. William F. Winzurk, son of Mrs. Constance B. Winzurk, 912 Ortega Ave., and Joseph F. Winzurk, of Fallbrook, Calif., will participate in a Pyke-Hercules missile unit in annual service practice firing on Okinawa, ending April 1st. Lieutenant Winzurk entered the Army in November of 1957. He was overseas in 1960 on this tour of duty and is the executive officer in the artillery's Battery B. The 27 year old officer graduated in 1952 at Fork Union Va., Military Academy and 1957 at the University of Miami. ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ The Florida Chapter Daughters of the Founders and Patriots of America, will hold a noon luncheon Tuesday at the Riviera Country Club. Guest of honor will be Mrs. Herbert Ralston Hill, national president, who is the house guest of Mrs. Hardgrove Norris 13035 Old Cutler Rd. ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ Mrs. Helen C. Braun, 836 Obispo Ave., will be crowned Queen of the Greater Miami-St. Louis Club in ceremonies Sunday at the North Miami Adult Recreation Park. Mrs. Braun is the second one in her family to have worn the crown. Her late husband, Edwin Braun, was crowned king of the M-St. L. club in 1957. Among other Gableites who belong to this club of some 100 members are Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pollak, 4801 Orduna Dr., and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest T. Stehlby, 4919 Biltmore Dr. ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ Mrs. James H. Warner, 1028 Almeria Ave., is attending the International three day seminar for church women at Avon Park, which ends today (Thursday). ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ Paul Cremaschi, orchestral director of Coral Gables High School Instrumental Music department, will present the program at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Musician Club of America, 303 Minorca Ave. William Ledue is band director. The string quartet is composed of students: Steve Herstedt, Wilda Brown, Carol Derflinger and Faith Gould. ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ Cadet Major Eugene LeBlanc, son of Mrs. Marcel LeBlanc, 304 Majorca Ave., and a senior at Hobart College, has been assigned to the post of personnel officer on the Cadet Wing Staff. He is vice-president of Sigma Phi fraternity and serves on the Board of Control at Hobart. ⋆ ⋆ ⋆ Army Second Lt. John M. Bosworth has completed the eight-week field artillery officer orientation course at the Artillery and Missile School, Fort Sill, Okla. He entered the Army last November. His wife, Jacqueline, resides at 1557 Le Jeune Rd. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Bosworth, 319 Velarde Ave. He is a 1961 graduate of the University of Miami with a BA in civil engineering and before entering the army was an architectural draftsman with Eastern Air Lines.
HONORING HER VISITING daughters and their husbands are Mrs. E. J. Sebastian, 3811 Riviera Dr., (seated center) who entertained at the Jamaica Inn on Key Biscayne. The daughters, are Beth and Joan, standing back of their mother, Beth is the wife of Robert Stege, (seated left). Joan is the wife of Keehn Yeager (seated right). The Steges reside in Lafayette, Calif., and the Yeagers in Racine, Wis.
