PEOPLE

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jacobson, 408 Garleanda Ave., were happy folks Friday. That afternoon was the "unveiling" for Mr. Jacobson's father, 77-year-old David, who'd had a cataract removed and for the first time in many years could see again. "It was a perfect success," said the enthusiastic son of the operation at Baptist Hospital. It also was the elder Jacobson's first stay in a hospital. He lives on Miami Beach but during the recuperation will be here.

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY By: Gaither D. Peden, Jr.

"I regret often that I have spoken; never that I have been silent . . ." Syrus If the average person's troubles could be catalogued and those traceable either to talk or silence might be set aside, talk, by all odds, would prove to be the big offender. Although words are the basic and most necessary form of communication, there will arise situations when only well-chosen words, impeccable in taste, sound in judgment and accurate in intent are worthy of utterance. If these words are not readily at hand, it is usually wiser, certainly kinder, to remain silent. Words are of small comfort at time of bereavement. Wiser it is to rely on the certain comfort of a comprehensive service that attends to all details. Such services, complete in every respect, are available at G. D. PEDEN FUNERAL HOMES, 8231 Bird Road, and 9798 Hibiscus Street in Perrine. Ambulance service. Phone CA 6-1811 or 238 2724.
