North, South, East or West. Learn how to play your cards. Join a Bridge class at the Youth Center. Beginners Bridge, Wednesday, Jan. 16, 7:30 to 10 p.m. and Intermediate Bridge will start Jan. 4 at 9:30 to noon. This class is good for people who know just a little about the game, and want to improve. Olga Poe is the instructor and fees are $9 for eight weeks. The week of Jan. 7 is opening date for the following classes: Ceramics, for Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced Students. The classes are held on Tuesday morning from 9 to noon. Creative Design is also on Mondays beginning Jan. 7 from 9 to 10 p.m. This class is suited for people who have a hobby, or would like to begin on one. Miss Chiofolo is the instructor. Gladys Roy will teach yoga on Mondays beginning Jan. 7 from 8 to 9 p.m. and also East Indian Dancing from 9 to 10 p.m. Additional information regarding these classes may be obtained at the Youth Center. A children's Dog Training Class will take place on the patio Monday Jan. 7 from 5 to 5:30. All children who are interested in teaching their dog good dog manners should join this class. Child Psychology starts Jan. 2 from 9 to noon. This class is sponsored by Dade County Public School Board, Adult Division and the registration fee is $2. for a 12-week course.

Mrs. Gurney, Was Minister's Wife

Mrs. Maebelle Elizabeth Gurney, 59, 611 Zamora Ave., died Thursday. Requiem mass was held for her Saturday at St. Philip's Episcopal Church. Interment was in Flagler Memorial Park. Mrs. Gurney came to Florida 14 years ago from Elmira, N.Y. She belonged to the St. Mary's Chapter of the Episcopal Church Women. She is survived by her husband the Rev. G. L. Gurney; one son Sgt. George R. Gurney, Ft. Sill, Okla.; mother Mrs. A. C. Branch, Lockport, N.Y.; three brothers and one sister of New York; and four grandchildren.

H. McFarlane, Here 3 Years

Howard M. McFarlane, 89, of 42 Marabella Ave., died Tuesday. Private services were held Thursday at Ben Lanier and Son Funeral Home. Mr. McFarlane came to Miami three years ago from Augusta, Me. He was a retired lumberman and Spanish-American War Veteran. He was a member of the First Church of Christ of Christian Scientists of Augusta, Maine. Mr. McFarlane is survived by four sons; G. E. and M. H. both of Fort Lauderdale, and D. G. and R. W. of Miami; one daughter Mrs. Dorothy M. DeCostas of Coral Gables; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Oscar Fischers Win Hanukkah

The Oscar R. Fischers of 4125 Monserrate St. won the Temple Judea Hanukkah decoration contest in judging Sunday. Second was Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Weissman 8840 SW 42nd St. and third was Dr. and Mrs. George Balber, 4531 SW 15th St. Honorable mention went to Mr. and Mrs. Sid Deutsch, 6500 SW 45th St. Hanukkah os a Jewish celebration falling near the time of Christmas and gifts are exchanged. It is in celebration of a victory for religious freedom in a battle fought against the Syrians.
