At right is Bill Barber, area representative for Broyhill. Feinman won the all-expense trip for winning the "Abroad At Home" contest for dealers and salesmen. Martin H. Feinman and F. W. Inklebarger, Modernage, 7255 NE 4th Ave., have been judged first prize winners in the "Abroad At Home" contests for dealers and salesmen sponsored by the Premier Division, Broyhill Furniture Factories, Lenoir, N. C. Feinman is the recipient of an expenses-paid 14 day trip for two to Paris, and Inklebarger, a $500 U. S. Government savings bond. The Feinmans will fly from New York aboard an Air France Boeing 707 Jet. All expenses for the trip will be taken care of by Broyhill. While in Paris, Feinman will have first class hotel accommodations, dine in famous restaurants, visit and see all of the points of historical and cultural interest for which the City of Ligt is so well known. The dealer and salesman contests which Feinman and Inklebarger have won were parts of the six-weeks long "Abroad At Home" promotion for Broyhill Premier's "Saga," "Trianon" and "Invitation Classic" collections of correlated living, dining and bedroom furniture. More than 1200 Broyhill Premier furniture dealers participated in "Abroad At Home" during the promotion period, Aug. 1 to Sept. 15.

No Sunday Openings, Merchants Reminded

The annual problem of Sunday openings by a few Coral Gables merchants has cropped up again with complaints that two downtown stores have violated the unwritten law. Mayor John M. Montgomery, who was backed by the City Commission, has written a letter to the errant merchants telling them about traditional policy of no Sunday openings.

Bomb Shelters Raise Problem In Coral Gables

The Coral Gables Zoning Board has been asked to present recommendations on setbacks and spacing requirements for erection of bomb or fallout shelters. I. Tommy Thomas, recently appointed chairman of the Dade County Zoning Board, made the request. Thomas, a Gables resident and former member of the Gables Zoning Board, indicated the information was needed by Metro which is studying survival steps in the atomic age. The studies are concerned with shelter requirements when the structure is attached to an existing building or detached as an accessory building. Thomas' request will be an unusually difficult one for the Gables which has strict zoning laws on land coverage and erection of auxiliary buildings.

Cruising Club Installs Officers

At the monthly meeting of the Dinner Key Cruising Club, the following new officers for 1961 were installed: commodore, Bob Erickson; vice commodore, Burt Probinski, and rear commodore, Kenneth S. Keyes Jr. Burgees were presented to these officers. Barney Daley, cruise chairman, reported that 10 boats participated in the Elliot Key cruise held during the Thanksgiving weekend. No cruise is planned for December because of the holidays, but members were advised to plan a weekend cruise for the middle of January. A plaque inscribed "Good Luck to Joe Geary" was presented to Dockmaster Joe Geary for his 10 years of service to yachting at the Dinner Key Marina. Joe blew out 10 candles on a cake especially prepared for him. The speaker was Gordon Dunn of the Miami Weather Bureau.

The Soviet Union, the world's largest nation, stretches 6000 miles from the Polish border to the Bering Sea, the National Geographic Magazine says. It could encompass the United States with five million square miles to spare.
