by helen reynolds society editor Louise (Mrs. A. D.) Barnes, who has resided in Coral Gables for 35 years, is quite upset over the fact that the City Beautiful might become a city of skyscrapers instead of a residential city. Mrs. Barnes brought a clipping, a feature article from the Kansas City Star dated Nov. 6, 1960, to The Times, which was sent to her from a friend. The article contained a three column picture of Coral Gables City Hall, with a convertible (top down) containg three people in the foreground, and this caption, "That's City Hall, the disbelieving motorists are telling themselves as they drive past the ornate municipal offices of Coral Gables, Fla., a city that stays conscious of its architecture."
