God's Power For Man's Problems

By V. NEIL WYRICK JR., Pastor Falmetto Presbyterian Church Horace Mann once said, "Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity." It does not have to be some international event or news-cast specialty. It can be one small personal victory over bigotry when you have learned how to love and understand all men. It can be some moment when a neighbor hears you speak out unashamed, "I love my God." It can be everytime and anytime you do something kind for no gain, something brave for no reward, something good because you must. Everytime you move yourself closer to God by acting more like his child, you move humanity a little closer too, and when this happens we both live in a world which is a little more like heaven and a little less like hell.

Westbrooke Country Club Names Leve Manager

Mort Leve, formerly an executive with the Pony and Colt Baseball League headquarters in Washington, Pa., has been named managing director of the new Westbrooke Country Club here. Sheldon Kay and Harold Moss, developers of the $1 million recreation and social facility in Southwest Dade, said Leve would be in charge of setting up athletic teams to participate in local, state and national contests in various sports, as well as managing the club's general activities. Leve said that Westbrooke would immediately apply for AAU recognition and is in the process of joining several other recognized groups in hand-ball, tennis, softball and swimming. Before accepting the Miami appointment, Leve was promotional director for the Pony and Colt League. Prior to that he was general manager of the Town Club in Chicago for six years. He is also the former executive secretary of the United States Handball Association. Leve said that Westbrooke, which among its facilities will have the largest swimming pool in the state and the first complete with four AAU-approved courses in a single pool, was working on plans to hold national swimming competition in this area. "Because of the size and the flexibility of use of the Westbrooke swimming pool, we are making plans which we feel will make our site the Orange Bowl of the swimming world," Leve said. MORT LEVE Westbrooke, located at 8500 on the Trail, is scheduled to open in June.
