12-Story Negro Apts. Planned
A permit has been issued and a $46,000 contract has been awarded to Markel Industries of Miami for the construction of a 12-unit, apartment house in South Miami's Negro section. Owner is Jack Stanton, 6520 Miller Road, chairman of South Miami's Planning and Zoning Board. Construction already is underway on the building which will be on SW 59th Place near SW 63rd St. The structure will be two-story, 120 by 36 feet in size and will contain eight, two-bedroom, one-bath apartments and four one-bedroom, one-bath apartments. Architect is Lester Avery of Miami.
