Concord Center 'Definite'
The western suburbs off Bird Road will definitely have a major new shopping area in operation sometime this year. Bob Bookbinder of Concord Shopping Center Inc. said that final leasing arrangements with national tenants are now being completed by Webster Stone Inc., leasing agents. Architectural and engineering plans are in the hands of Don Reiff Associates. "We hope to break ground on Concord Shopping Center early this spring," Bookbinder said. Concord Shopping Center will be built on a 70-acre tract on the north side of Bird Road between SW 112th Ave. and 114th Ave. The first section of the "shopping city" will utilize approximately one-third of this area.
