Real Estate Rolls on With Mounting Sales
The real estate market here—both in building and in selling existing homes—continues to improve. Building permits were off slightly for July, 1961, compared to the same month last year but continue to run ahead for the year. Home and property sales are up better than a half million dollars this July over the last one and are helping to bring 1961 to within catching distance of 1960. Figures released this week by the Coral Gables Board of Realtors show this July's total in realty transfers to be $2,022,150. Last year it was $1,482,200. The breakdown is 44 single-family residences, $1,237,250; 10 multiple-family residences, $428,200; three commercial buildings, $154,800; and 36 lots, $201,900. Year-to-date totals are July, 1961, $10,533,295 and July, 1960, $11,282,725. The Gables' Building Department issued permits last month for $1,240,295 compared to $1,427,925 in 1960. Year-to-date figures are $7,990,877 for 1961 and $7,364,135 for 1960.
The Winters Win Trip

The participants Pan American employees — each year contribute their share to the annual call for Dade County charities. Making the trip with their parents, were Patricia and Nancy, both college girls, Robert, and Sandra, high school students.
