'Mardi Gras' Invitation Out For Riviera's Friday Fun

"Come to the Mardi Gras," the fourth annual Riviera revue, will be presented Friday at 3:30 and 8 p.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Riviera Junior High School auditorium. The production, put on entirely by students, has a cast of 150 performers and 38 acts. Admission for the matinee is 25 cents, and 50 cents for both adults and students at the evening performances. Plaza Awards 4 Trophies To Groups

Four gold trophies were awarded to the Humane Society, Cub Pack 66 and the Miami Vanguards at Central Shopping Plaza Feb. 14. The three winning organizations were among the 18 participating in the Central Merchant's Association - sponsored event. Pack 66, led by Scoutmaster R. Coffman, won trophies for "best decorated" and "best in entertainment." One display was a complete Indian teepee and the other trophy was awarded for interpretative war dances. The Vanguards, led by S. Harris took top place for their marching and music. And the display of pets, including the largest known ocelot, won the day for the Humane Society, led by R. J. Anderson and O. J. Anderson.

CHINESE FILM

"Red China Outlawed," a film about the Chinese Peoples Republic, will be shown to the public by the Clement L. Theed Jr. post 300 tomorrow (Friday). The film will be shown at 8 p.m. at West Miami City Hall, 901 SW 62nd Ave.

Lecture Tonight

Dr. Frank G. Slaughter, author and lecturer, will speak on "Florida's First Hundred Years" at a meeting of the Historical Association of Southern Florida tonight (Thursday) at 8 o'clock in the Coral Gables High School auditorium.
