Antiques, paintings mark Greenberg home
By ERICA MEYER Staff Writer Nancy Greenberg's home has warmth, vibrancy, attention to detail and individual flair — qualities also found in her award winning watercolor paintings. The paintings, in clear, carefully handled colors, hang throughout the house where the Greenbergs decided not to follow trends and fads, but to collect things they like and arrange them for grace and comfort. Nancy and her husband, Dan, of Dan Greenberg Public Relations, bought their Kendall home six years ago, because, Nancy said, "It would hold all our furniture from up north. We could still have all the things we really like around us." One of the things they really like is a stunning set of orange rattan furniture, woven matting with sturdy bamboo supports and black linen cushions. The set includes a long sofa, chairs, an end tables, bar stools and an inviting open bar with a rattan canopy top. A carpet of red, orange, brown and black swirls ties the color scheme together, in conjunction with Nancy's paintings, which are frequently changed around as she experiments to see how her latest creations look framed and displayed. A tall arrangement of dried wheat and flowers adds a natural touch and blends with the wood paneling and the polished wooden chest with three book shelves packed with art volumes. Tall windows open onto an enclosed patio, with a profusion of plants, a redwood table and an inviting swimming pool. One of South Dade's many canals affords privacy and a view beyond the patio. The formal living room is a total contrast to the vivid family room, but both have the Greenberg imprint. The marble-floored living room is an antique showcase — charming old tables with marble tops, an antique crystal and brass chandelier, a Persian rug in pale blue See next page Something old, something new . . . an antique chair shares corner with potted plant
