Home is full of handiwork
Among Mrs. Sylvestro's favorite possessions are a hand-painted Bavarian punchbowl and matching goblets. From Page 12 dining room, which they converted from a breezeway when they bought the home. Among Ann's favorite possessions here are a hand-painted Bavarian punchbowl and matching goblets, which she admits are used with great trepidation; and a beautiful stained-glass window which Al had "built into" the wall while the room was being contructed. The walls throughout the house are covered with paintings, only two of which were not done by Ann, a former commercial artist in Providence, R.I. Ann's other handiwork is found throughout the house, in needlepointed chair seats and pillows, homemade table skirts, and hooked rugs. When a drawing of a parrot that Wayne made as a five-year-old started to disintegrate, Ann duplicated it as a Bargello wallhanging (with no attempt to improve on the artwork). Wayne, now a senior at Coral Gables High, is a talented ceramicist, and Ann proudly displays his work alongside her other treasures, which include numerous antique clocks, and a newly begun collection of demitasse cups.
