PAST PRESIDENTS PLAN LUNCHEON, OFFICER ELECTION
Mrs. Edward T. J. Parkinson, of 741 North Greenway Drive, will be hostess for a covered dish luncheon Monday, May 12th when the Past President's Parley of the American Legion Auxiliaries in Dade County meet at her home for the purpose of electing officers. The Past President's Parley is an organization of all past presidents of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. A. E. Reinhard, tenth District President and immediate past president of the Miami Beach American Legion Auxiliary, will install the newly elected officers following a business session. Mrs. Doris K. Green, president, will preside over the business session with her secretary, Mrs. Grace Newton. A social hour honoring the mothers of the members will follow the luncheon in the form of a Mother's Day party. Flowers and gifts have been arranged by Mrs. Edwin J. Barker and her committee.
Little Flower Society Marks Important Date
The Society of the Little Flower, Church of the Little Flower, will hold its annual meeting and election of officers at 8 p.m. Monday at the rectory. On Sunday, following the 8 a.m. mass, the Rosary Circle of the Society will hold its annual May breakfast at the Barcelona Restaurant. Mrs. S. A. Shikany, 4-5582 is taking reservations.

CATHOLIC VOWS UNITE THE ROBERT D. HIVELYS
Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Hively have returned from their wedding trip and are residing in an apartment at 5737 Riviera Drive, following their marriage April 7 at the Church of the Little Flower. Mrs. Hively, the former Miss Katherine Burdick wore traditional white satin and carried white carnations and iris for her wedding. A double ring ceremony followed by a nuptial mass took place at nine oclock. The bride was attended by Miss Josephine DeMaso and Gerald A. Burdick Jr., brother of the bride was best man. Flower girl and ring bearer were Vera Vicellio and Jimmy DeMaso. Seating the guests were Ralph Magruder and Mathew Davis. Gerald A. Burdick gave his daughter in marriage. A wedding breakfast followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Cox, uncle and aunt of the bride at 5737 Riviera Drive. Mrs. Burdick wore a white suit and white accessories corsage of sweet peas, for her daughter's marriage. Out-of-town guests included the bride's two grandmothers Mrs. Annie Burdick of Houston, Texas and Mrs. A. A. Garza of Alabama. A former resident with her parents of Coconut Grove the bride, was graduated from Gesu High school in 1945. Her parents came from San Antonio, Texas, where they now reside for the wedding. Mr. Hively is the son of Mrs. Frances Hively of Coral Gables and the late Mr. Hively. He attended the schools in Coral Gables and Coconut Grove and served in the United States Navy for two years during the war. He is now associated in business with the Holsum Bakery Company in South Miami.
Women's Association Will Meet May 9th
The Women's Association of Coral Gables Community Congregational church will meet Friday May 9, 1947 in the church. A covered dish luncheon will be served at 12:30 P. M., with Mrs. Fred Raymond and Mrs. Henry Erikson as hostesses. The devotional period will be in charge of Mrs. Charles Anderson, followed by a book review. The speaker, Mrs. Roy Gilmour Pavy has selected Eleanor Risley's humorous book, "The Road To Wildcat," for her subject.
Visits Cousins
Mrs. Oscar Beecham of "Southampton" St. Mary's County, Maryland was the recent house guest of her cousins Mr. and Mrs. Roderick McCullough Thomas, 1307 Avenue Obiapo. Mrs. Beecham planned to visit former Illinois friends in Ozona, on the west coast of Florida, before returning to Maryland.
To Visit In North
Mrs. Frederick Vierling of Alhambra Circle left yesterday for Washington, D.C., accompanying her aunt, Mrs. F. K. Hatch who has been her wintertime guest. Mrs. Vierling will visit in St. Louis, Mo., her former home, and will return to Coral Gables in the fall.
To Cloudland
Mrs. J. A. Girtman, 1700 LeJeune Road, left yesterday to re-open the Girtman cottage at Cloudland, Ga., for the season. Mr. Girtman and other members of the family will join her late in May.
Minerva Club Sets Date
The Minerva Club will hold its regular monthly meeting at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, (V.E. day) at the Country Club of Coral Gables. For reservations call Mrs. A. A. Simmon, 3-2067.

By HELEN REYNOLDS, SOCIETY EDITOR Mr. and Mrs. Lyle D. Holcomb are joining the Coral Gables colony of home owners by the purchase of the house at 3009 Alhambra Circle. They will be moving to their new home, one of the larger, older attractive Coral Gables land marks, about June first, "and it will be like coming home" Mrs. Holcomb told your reporter just recently. The Holcombs are members of the Century Club of Coral Gables Mr Holcomb a Miami attorney, has been a trustee of the Congregational Church for many years and Mrs. Holcomb as long been a member of the Coral Gables Woman's Club. Residents of the southwest section of Miami, Mrs. Holcomb feels the family are moving to the Gables just at the right time. Don, their son, graduating in June from Miami Senior High school will enter the University of Michigan, next fall, as a pre-med student. Their daughter, Doris, will be completing the sixth grade at Coral Way Elementary, which is as high as the grades go in that school and will enter the Coral Gables Elementary in the fall. Formerly owned by Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Doddridge, the new home will have some alterations and additions made by the Holcombs before they take possession-and Mrs. Holcomb hopes to have her very own slat house for her large collection of orchid plants. * * * "Honeymoon home" was the way Mr. and Mrs. R. Fulton Webb described their own home, when two sets of brides and grooms came to Coral Gables on their respective wedding trips the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Porter Driscoll Jr., arrived Saturday from Savannah, Ga. following their marriage, a social event in the Georgia town, last week. Mr. Driscoll Jr., and Mr. Webb are first cousins. The other honeymooners were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas D. Williams, of St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Williams is a neice of Mrs Webb's * * * Newly wedded Mr. and Mrs. Harry Reynolds chose the attractive new dining room of the La Posada and its Mexican atmosphere for their wedding breakfast following their nine oclock marriage at the Church of the Little Flower, Saturday morning. The bride, the former Miss Mollie Hickman of Coral Gables wore an all white ensemble of white silk draped jersey, white gardenia corsage. Mr. and Mrs Percy Gilmore were the attendants. The Reverend Thomas Comber officiated. L. T. Trainor, manager of La Posada "toasted" the bride and the 20 guests were placed at a fresh gardenia decked table. Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds plan to reside in Coral Gables. The Madrigal Singers of the Coral Gables Music Club will give an half hour program over the airways of station WBAY at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Clyde Higgins soloist will sing an original composition by Ruby Pierce Jackson, temporary director of the women's chorus. Comprising the group are Mesdames R. N. Chafer, J B. Jordan, E. P. Rucker, Cecil Vaughn, Mina Meyer, Garland McNutt, Fred W. Mixer, Clyde Higgins, L. P. Perseille, George Pawley, T. W. Holdcraft and H. E. Caldwell.
