Ilonka Sheer To Present Benefit Show
The Ilonka Scheer Dance Group, augmented by a chorus of teachers and college students, will hold a concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the Miami Senior High School. The concert is for the benefit of the William Scheer Memorial fund of the South Florida Children's Hospital. The main feature of the program, according to Miss Scheer, will be a one-act fantasy; Miss Scheer composed some of the music and arranged all of the dances for this presentation. The concert will introduce three new voices to Miami music lovers. The first of these, Marie Kilbride, contralto, is a Gables resident. At present, Mrs. Kilbride is the soloist at the First Presbyterian Church, Miami. Another newcomer, Dawn Lorenz, soprano, formerly of New York, has now made her home in Miami. The third, Charles Stuart, of Indianapolis, comes here with a great deal of experience from work with the musical comedies. Among his past experiences we find that he has sunk in Oklahoma, and recently sang in Schubert operettas in Chicago. Miss Scheer, who will be at the piano, wrote the choreography for all of the dances.
