Gables Eyes Rader For Planning Job
The choice of a planner for Coral Gables has been narrowed down to one of four bidders — Rader and Associates. Selection of Rader to solve the city's high rise building and other zoning problems became apparent Tuesday when the City Commission decided to sit with Rader representatives tomorrow (Friday) morning to discuss details and costs of the proposed zoning study. No formal resolution has been passed by the Commission, however. Estimated cost of the project has ranged from $12,000 to $13,000, but the Commission indicated Tuesday it will attempt to pare down that figure.
DRY IT OUT IN THE OVEN
You know, I never knew what a kick you could get out of reading a newspaper. I mean I didn't know until I started reading the NEW Coral Gables Times. That's the liveliest sheet I ever saw. I don't want to get my carrier in trouble (he's a nice boy) but last week the paper got wet before we got to it. But it didn't bother us. I told my wife as I left for work, "Dry it out in the oven." Don't be a non-believer; don't be a non-subscriber. You'll find sparkle in the NEW THE Coral Gables TIMES 364 Sevilla Ave., Coral Gables HI 3-1661
Singers Invited
In an attempt to open more paying jobs to the area's singing talent, Miami Conservatory of Music is holding auditions to select best-of-category voices. Those chosen will have opportunities to try out for professional entertaining and singing, according to Roy Oliver of the conservatory, 2973 Coral Way. Auditions are to be held Saturday. Telephone appointments may be made by calling HI 6-2523. There is a $3 registration fee.
