PEOPLE
SOS may be the international distress signal but the SOS on the Rod and Reel Club's annual shipwreck party invitation (in red too) means "Save Our Sailors" and have fun. The party whose membership takes in Coral Gables as well as all of Miami, the Shores and the Beach is Saturday at the club, on Hibiscus Island. They'll all wear "unique" costumes. ★ ★ ★ Members of the Coral Gables Country Club will forego formals when they dress for a "Barn Dance" the committee on entertainment thought up for Saturday. There will be a chuck wagon buffet, — hog calling—cigarette rolling—and corn husking contests. Dr. and Mrs. A. P. Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kelsey, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Olkoski and Mr. and Mrs. Jack McKart form the committee. ★ ★ ★ Marine David C. Sinclair, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don M. Sinclair, 911 Capri St., was graduated Feb. 2 from a 19-week Avionics Fundamentals School, Naval Air Training Center, Memphis. With the other graduates, David will continue a nine-week Aviation Electronics Technician School training with the goal: eligibility for duty with the Aviation branch of the Marine Corps. ★ ★ ★ Mrs. John K. Howard of Fernwood Road, Key Biscayne will talk on migrant birds Monday when the Coral Gables Garden Club meets in the Woman's Club House. Mrs. Howard uses stuffed bird specimens to help identification.
