Riviera Relocating Golfers
City golf pros are to study an arrangement with the Riviera Country Club for providing golf facilities to their members while their fairway is being rebuilt this summer. The City Commission at Tuesday's conference asked City Manager L. W. Robinson Jr. to have William Tinder, pro of the Biltmore Golf Course, and Elmer Gerth, pro of the Granada Golf Course, to study a fee offer. Riviera plans to close down its course in May and June. The club has reportedly had offers of $10 a month from the Country Club of Miami and $35 from the Palmetto Country Club to fill the two-month gap.
