Baptists Ready Jubilee Revival

Two hundred members of University Baptist Church have been attending private prayer meetings in preparation for a Jubilee Revival to begin Sunday. The meetings have been held the past two Fridays under the direction of 26 deacons, in private homes. The final one is this Friday. These are inspirational meetings including prayer for all the participants and individuals the program is trying to reach. "New Life in Christ" is the theme. Dr. T. Rupert Coleman, minister, will begin the revival Sunday morning with a talk on "The Revival We Need." He will speak at 7:45 p.m. on "What Means Your Confession?" Monday and Tuesday at 6 p.m. there will be dinner for the congregation who share in a revival visitation in homes of the area following the dinner. Jubilee revivals are being held by Baptist churches of the nation in preparation for the commemoration of 150 years of mission workin the United States. Dr. Charles B. Howard, an evangelist of North Carolina, will arrive on Wednesday and preach nightly through March 11. Dr. Howard was formerly head of the Bible Department of Campbell College, Buie's Creek, N.C. "Operation A.S.K." will be the intermediate group program. Borrowed from Mathew 7:7 the A.S.K. signifies, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you." Th younger group under the direction of C. B. Brasington Jr., will lead a prayer vigil in the Memorial Chapel from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. The Evangelistic Committee and deacons, directed by J. E. Lawallen, will lead an Around-the-Clock Prayer Service in the chapel from 8 p.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. the following morning.
