Flamingo Club members will be selling the clothes "right off their back" at their charity raising style show and luncheon next Tuesday, morning at 10:30 at the home of their President Mrs. Arthur Engstrom, 4288 Douglas Rd. Each member will wear a nice outfit to the party where she will model it and then it will be auctioned. Former Gableite, Mrs. John Ruse, whose pilot husband was recently transferred to Washington, is flying down for the show. Capt. Brad F. Roberts is home on leave for a few days visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Evans R. Roberts, 720 Jeronimo Dr. He flew from Stuttgart, Germany, where he is stationed with the Medical Corp., to Chicago last Sunday to take tests for membership in the American Pediatrics Association. After graduating from what once was Ponce de Leon High School, he attended Unversity of Florida and was graduated from Western Reserve Medical School. Due to the speed of his trip, he had to leave his wife and baby girl in Stuttgart. SPANISH AND ITALIAN imports dominated the fashion show given Thursday of last week at the Doral Country Club by the Coral Gables Woman's Club. Pencil-slim and pleated skirts were topped by high-necked, three-quarter sleeved jackets. Coral Gables Senior High teacher, Mrs. Herberta Ann Leonardy, has been commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by Kentucky's Gov. Bert T. Combs, for her work in parliamentary law. A past president of the National Association of Parliamentarians, Mrs. Leonardy teaches history and psychology. She has won several national television awards and trips abroad for her lesson plans and teaching style. College graduates interested in becoming members of the greater Miami branch of American Association of University Women will be honored at a tea Sunday afternoon from 3-5 o'clock at the home of Mrs. R. L. McAll, 760 Anastasia Ave. New members will also be honored. Fall reflections in fashion was the theme of the fashion-show luncheon given yesterday (Wednesday) by the Coral Gables Junior Woman's Club at the Riviera Country Club. Members used the individual hand mirrors given as favors to reflect themselves as they watched club members model the latest in afternoon and evening creations.
