POPPING OUT OF A PUMPKIN? No, but Susan Weil appears to be. But the first grader at Coral Gables Elementary School is tooting a happy tune on her trumpet. The Oct. 26 Halloween carnival, the 35th in the school's 38-year history, is coming. Dressed in the roaring '20's outfit she'll wear in a parade that day, little Susan is trying to tell the public that it too can have a tootin' good time if it comes to the festive affair. A parade of children in costumes will kick-off the carnival in the auditorium at 2 p.m. Games to delight every child will be waiting outside on the playground. And to top off the day's gala activities, there'll be a spaghetti dinner at 5 p.m. and a talent show at 8 p.m.

Hollowell wins a Zenith table top radio for his personal use. Twenty-four other winners will receive prizes ranging from a TV set to special AC-DC radios. "The winner of each week's contest will also be eligible to compete for the grand prize consisting of a $2,500 four year pre-school scholarship for a child at a school approved by the American Hearing Society," Roxton said. Bicycle Safety Program Launched
In 1959, 26 children were killed and over 400 injured in bicycle accidents in Florida. In an effort to curb this accident rate the Florida Safety Council is inaugurating a state-wide Bicycle Safety Campaign during the month of November. During this campaign, grade schools will have bicycle contests, rodeo's and other safety programs in co-operation with the local police departments. Prizes will be awarded to the three schools sending in the best articles on what they did during Bicycle Safety Month.
