Christmas Caravan Gets Ready To Roll

For the first time in the 12 years of Chi Omega Sorority Christmas' Caravan, homes in Northeast Miami will be visited this year. On display for the Dec. 3 affair from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. will be the homes of Mrs. James J. Davis of 9900 NE 13th Ave.; Mrs. Starr Horton, 950 NE 95th St., and Mrs. John D. MacDonald, 1270 NE 92nd St. At the home of Mrs. Davis, chairman, Mrs. G. C. Davis will use the theme, "Peace On Earth," to be carried out in formal decor of white and gold. Refreshments will be served in the patio near an outdoor display of "The Three Wisemen." "Christmas at the Homestead" will be the theme of the display at the home of Mrs. Horton, second on the list of homes to be visited. Informal in character, it will feature the traditional red and green of nostalgic Christmases of the past. Also on display will be a Christmas bazaar of handmade articles. At the home of Mrs. MacDonald, who is caravan chairman, Mrs. Donald Mariutto, chairman, will use as the theme "Southern Hospitality." Part of the decorations will feature a gold framed copy of the poem "Beneath a Southern Sky," by Vivian Laramore Rader, poet laureate of Florida. A Christmas muisc background will set the mood in each of the homes visited. Serving as co-chairman with Mrs. MacDonald is Mrs. Thomas S. Trantham. Mrs. Edward R. Injaychock is chairman of tickets. Other committee members are Mrs. Stanley Biedron, Mrs. William Bordeaux, Mrs. Kitty Walton, Mrs. William Hartnett, Mrs. Jack Del Dello, Miss Heather Woodward, Mrs. Richard Houghton and Mrs. Franklin Kenward.

Civic Club Event To Buy Wheel Chairs

Almost from the time they were organized, members of the Coral Gables Civic Club have furnished wheel chairs for the Crippled Children's Society of Greater Miami. Next Thursday, Dec. 1st, the club will give its annual luncheon and fashion show at the Riviera Country Club. The main object is to buy wheel chairs. To date the club has purchased 63. Holiday fashions, with two speciality shops in the Gables cooperating, will be presented. Mrs. William Thompson will be commentator, Mrs. L. E. Huguelot is chairman with co-chairman, Mrs. C. H. Goodloe, club president. Mary Davies will sing Christmas carols with Ethel Stampe at the organ. Ballet students from Phyllis Kapp Studio will dance.

Sorority Names Mrs. Wood To District Post

Mrs. Tom Wood, 6260 SW 16th Ter., has been appointed district educational director of the Florida State Council of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, International nonscholastic sorority. Mrs. Wood, a member of Gamma Lambda Chapter of Miami, will have under her direction the chapters in Eau Gallie, Titusville, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood and Miami. The State of Florida has 69 chapters of ESA, all of which contribute to the state philanthropic project, The Florida State School for Deaf and Blind Children at St. Augustine.

Sorority Plans Rummage Sale

The president of Zeta Phi Chaper of Beta Sigma Phi, Mrs. Bill Laughlin, said plans are being made for a rumage sale in Perrine on Dec. 10. The next meeting will be held Nov. 30 at the Coral Gables Federal Savings and Loan Association in Perrine.

Date Is Set For Wedding

JACQUELYNE ROHRBACH Mr. and Mrs. George Rohrbach, 1250 So. Alhambra Cir., are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Jacquelyn, to Phillip George, son of Mrs. Kabrom George, 2128 SW 5th St., and the late Mr. George. The couple plan their wedding for March 18. The bride-elect had most of her formal schooling in Coral Gables. She is a graduate of Coral Gables High School and atended Florida State University. Her Fiance, a native Floridian, is a graduate of Miami Senior High School. He attended Stetson University, DeLand, and was graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Business Administration. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity at UM.

KAT Alumnae To Give 13th Charity Bazaar

Kappa Alpha Theta, Miami alumnae chapter, will present its 13th annual charity bazaar Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Coral Gables Woman's Clubhouse. Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. with the doors open at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. will start the day's proceedings. Mrs. William P. Masterson is general chairman. Mrs. Don LeBaron of the Coral Gables Junior Woman's Club is co-chairman. Christmas decorations for tables, mantels and doors will be a feature of the sale, also, stuffed animals, doll clothes, unusual bean bags, aprons, gifts and baked goods. Among the local charities supported by the group are South Florida Mental Hospital, Mental Health Society of Greater Miami and the Children's Service Bureau.

Gables Key Club Extends Invitation

Annual Meeting Set For Golfers

Mrs. Albert Anderson, of the Country Club of Coral Gables Women's Golf Association and president of the Miami Women's Golf Association will preside at the Association's annual 12:30 p.m. luncheon meeting Tuesday at the Miami Shores Country Club. The slate of new officers includes Mrs. Claude Kinder of the Biltmore Women's Golf Association, president; Mrs. Harry Jasper, of the CGWGA, treasurer; Mrs. Ernest Hewett of the Riviera Country Club Woman's Golf Association, golf chairman; and Mrs. Gerald Holth of Miami Springs, Women's Golf Association, social chairman.
