Pythian Playhouse Stages Original Play

Pythian Playhouse is the name of the new Little Theatre project of the Roosevelt Lodge, Knights of Pythias, which sponsored in conjunction with the Pythian Sisters. Bob Brenner is director of an original musical comedy, "Who Needs Money," to be presented at the Playhouse, 4601 West Flagler St., Nov. 26 and 27 and Dec. 3 and 4.

Musical Is Next For LOOM

The adventures of two New York career girls will be the subject of Leonard Bernstein's "Wonderful Town," to be presented by the Light Opera of Mian Dec. 9-10. The former Broadway success will star Flora Previn Lerman, contralto, in the role of Ruth Sherwood, aspiring novelist. Her younger sister, Eileen, will be played by Marguerite Barnes. Other members of the cast include Edward De Paul, Joseph Knisely, Van Vundelich, Chris Bronzino, John Tucker, Ailene Edgeworth, Olin Fisher and John Whiteman. The production will be staged and directed by William Mount-Burke. Dean Ryan is the musical director. The Light Opera of Miami, a non-profit organization, is in its [?]ond season, offering various Broadway musicals and operattas from Gilbert and Sullivan.

Robert N. Hammer, Fireman Apprentice, USCGR, son of Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Hammer, 3927 SW 58th Ct., has completed basic training at the Coast Guard's Receiving Center in Cape May, N. J. He will report to the Coast Guard Cutter UNIMAK for advanced training.

South Dade Blood Bank's Hours Changed

Hours for donations at the South Dade Community Blood Ban will change Tuesday, Nov. 29. The new hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 8:30 to noon. Blood donated at this branch of the John Elliott Blood Bank may be used in hospital in Dade County and throughout the country.
