Invitations to a "sho 'nuf Southern breakfast" for Monday, Jan. 2, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., were sent to friends of Jane and George Wilson, whose large Florida room with its wood burning fire place and rotisserie hard by the family pool of the same size will be the setting. The invitation says, "There is an old Southern custom that to start the New Year off properly, you must eat hog jowls, black-eyed peas and rice. The jowls are symbolic of joy from the first two letters of the word. The peas, by the same first letters, means peace. And the rice means riches. Since some of our friends might think us Cracker folks are a bit primitive, we promise not to cook the entire jaw bone, teeth and all. And so for those of you who may be a bit squeemish, there will be no teeth snapping at 'ye out of the kettle. So we plan to serve you "sissies" a neatly trimmed ham, instead. But we'll have black-eyed peas and perhaps some rice, too. So yo'all plan to be here to help spread the joy and you'll make us Cracker folks mighty glad we know 'ya." MRS. WILSON
