Car Struck While Parked In Driveway
Autos know no sanctuary when it comes to accidents. Georgine L. Walker, 37, of 1250 Bird Rd., found out when her car, parked in the driveway in front of her home, was damaged in a three-car collision early Christmas morning. It all began, according to Gables Officer Charles M. Harris, when Albert Glick, 32, of 6853 SW 28th Ter., and Margaret B. Howell, 54, of 5900 SW 42nd Ter., were eastbound on Bird shortly after 3:30 a.m. that morning. The Howell car, Harris said, cut into Glick's lane and the two cars collided. The impact caused the Howell car to go out of control, knock down a tree and crash into the Walker car, parked in the driveway. Estimated damage to the Howell car was $100 and $75 to Glick's, but the parked car was more seriously damaged.
