Coral Gables Jaycees Seek Outstanding Young Citizen

Do you know someone who could fill the shoes of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson? If so, the Coral Gables Junior Chamber of Commerce is interested in your nomination. The Jaycees are accepting nominations until Jan. 16 for its annual "Good Government" Award and "Distinguished Service" Award. And you can nominate some worthy man you know for either award. He doesn't have to be a Gables' resident, but his civic efforts should have been directed toward that city and not another area. If you know a man who you feel has contributed the most towards the improvement of government in Coral Gables, then you can nominate him for the "Good Government" Award. Last year's winner was Gables City Manager L. W. Robinson, Jr. If you know a man who has contributed the most toward improvement of his community and is 35 years old or younger, then he's eligible for the "Distinguished Service" Award. Last year's honors went to attorney Frank Guilford. If the person you nominate wins, he'll be the guest of honor when he receives the presentation during a banquet Jan. 19 at the Coral Gables Country Club.
