sports roundup ... All Star votes to cost 5¢ each

The Southeast Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is sponsoring a campaign to select the 11 favorite high school football players in Dade County. All individuals in the community are eligible to participate and may vote for their favorite for a nickel. At the conclusion of the contest, the top vote getters will be named to the MS All-Star Team. The outstanding players and other participants will be helping to defeat Multiple Sclerosis, the mysterious crippler of young adults. Members of the Coral Gables High School Key Club under the direction of Rob Bilhorn, president, will be distributing receptacles and posters to stores and restaurants near the school. Although "Athletes vs. MS" is a nationwide program, this is first time that members of the South Miami and Coral Gables community will have the opportunity to participate. For further information call Rob Bilhorn, president of Coral Gables High School Key Club, or Tom Davison, Jr., Lt. Governor of Key Clubs, Division 17, or the MS Society at 649-4242. Award winner Dade County Parks and Recreation Department has been selected as a National Gold Medal Award finalist in park and recreation management, according to the Sports Foundation, Inc. The Gold Medal Awards recognize excellence in park and recreation administration in communities throughout the United States.
