Expert grower will speak to Tropical Rose Society
Mrs. Gertrude Hirsch, an expert rose grower from Clearwater, Fla., will be the featured speaker at the regular monthly meeting of the Tropical Rose Society of Greater Miami, on Tuesday, Sept. 14. The National Rose Society Convention Show will be held in Miami later this year, so amateur rose growers will be advised how to obtain their best blooms by the date of this event. The meeting will begin at 8 p.m. in the Community Room of the Coral Gables United Methodist Church, corner of Coral Way and Segovia.
Women's club
The public is invited to attend the next meeting of the Westchester Women's Club on Tuesday, Sept. 14, which will feature a book review by Mrs. John Van Wezel of the Dade County library system. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 9850 Coral Way.
Fashion show
A fashion show presented by Jordan Marsh will highlight the Temple Beth Am Sisterhood's Opening Luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 15, according to Sisterhood president Peggy Bieley. The luncheon, which is free to paid-up members and $4.50 for guests, consists of favorite recipes of prominent personalities. The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Temple Social Hall, 5950 N. Kendall Dr.

Free tests
Free blood pressure tests will be given on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Bell's Short Stop, 17452 SW 104th Ave., in Perrine. The tests will be given from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. by volunteers of the Heart Association of Greater Miami.
Women voters
A membership coffee sponsored by the League of Women Voters will be held Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 9:30 a.m., at the home of Abbey Chase, 7261 Coral Reef Dr. For further information call the League office, 373-5970.
Homemakers
The South Miami Extension Homemakers will start its fall season with a program on "Food Additives," on Monday, Sept. 13, 9:30 a.m.
