New director James T. Barker, district manager for Southern Bell, has been elected to the board of directors of Sun Bank of Coral Gables. Barker has served as president of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce (1973), is on the Chamber's board of directors and is currently president of the Coral Gables Rotary Club. Barker Veep appointed Nelson G. Vera has been appointed vice president of the Barnett Bank at Midway, according to bank president Carlos J. Arboleya. Vera has been in banking since 1969, is a graduate of Miami-Dade Community College and a former Marine Corps sergeant. Vera Language award Mrs. Rosa Inclan, 1711 SW 83rd Ave., a consultant for bilingual education for Dade eounty schools, is the recipient of the annual award presented by the Florida State Chapter of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). New staffers Two University of Miami graduates, Cindy Mulkern and Karin de Vanhrusz, have joined the staff of Prevent Blindness, South Florida Branch, in Coral Gables. Cindy is the organization's new area coordinator and Karin is the new Flip-for-Sight coordinator. Gung-ho Marine Corps Private James B. Robertson, son of Mrs. Betty Robertson of 5015 SW 102nd Pl., has recently completed basic training at the Marine Corps Recruit Training Depot at Parris Island, S.C.
