Gables pastor will speak to ministers
All pastors, members and non-members, are invited to the Greater Miami Ministerial Association's luncheon-meeting to be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 2850 SW 27th Ave., noon Tuesday, Oct. 12. Cost for the lunch is $2.50. Guest speaker is Rev. Dan Yeary, pastor of University Baptist Church. His topic will be "Let's Help Our Singles and Singles Again."
Fall fair
Mark your calendar now for the Fall Fair, Saturday, Oct. 16, sponsored by the United Methodist Men at Olympia Heights United Methodist Church, 3801 SW 97th Ave. Among the activities at the fair will be a bake sale, plant sale, white elephant sale and a steak dinner for $3.75, served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Unitarians
The Unitarian Universalist Society of Miami opens enrollment in its new series of workshops and classes, offering everything from bicycle maintenance to psychotherapy. Enrollment is open to the general public and membership in the Society is not required. The week of Oct. 18, marks the beginning of the new series, and most offerings will cover an eight week period. Interested persons should phone the Society at 667-3697 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, to get exact information on workshops and classes available. There will be a $5 late fee for enrollment after Oct. 11.
United Methodist
Church women, 20740 Old Cutler Rd., will have a general meeting Monday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Speaker for the program will be Jean Hodges, speaking on "One Woman's Voice."
Youth groups
of Riviera Presbyterian Church, 5275 Sunset Dr., will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 to continue with their series on "Religion and Politics." A panel composed of members of the church will lead the discussion.
Beth Am
Parents of Temple Beth Am, 5950 N. Kendall D., Dr., are reminded that Religious School will begin again this weekend, Oct. 9 and 10. As it is also the weekend of the Sukkot, special visits to the Temple sukka have been scheduled for each class.

SM PTSA drives for members
South Miami Senior High School Parent-Teacher-Student Association will conduct an intensive membership drive from Oct. 11 through Oct. 14. The first PTSA meeting of the year will be Tuesday, Oct. 12, in the auditorium. Ms. Jane Everett, chairman of the Guidance Department, will discuss career planning, work programs, and college entrance testing. There will be a question and answer period. Country jamboree
The Xi Omega Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will hold a "Country Jamboree" on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at Cross Trails Center, 4150 SW 70th Ct. There will be door prizes, square dancing and fried chicken dinners with all the trimmings, including dessert. The benefits from the dance will assist the chapter in providing for three certified needy families for the Dade County Welfare Division.
