Area volunteers to be honored

Burdines, Florida and Germaine Monteil Cosmetiques Corporation, in conjunction with the National Center for Voluntary Action will honor South Florida's outstanding volunteers of 1976 for their service to the community as part of the national Volunteer Activist Awards program. Individual nominees for 1976 were: Elizabeth Brodsky, 10725 SW 72nd Ave., President of Cedars of Lebanon Health Care Center Auxiliary; Mrs. Rachel Simonhoff, South Miami resident, innovator of After School House of South Miami; Raymond L. Gibbs, 5695 N. Kendall, Treasurer of the YMCA of Greater Miami.

Robert M. Barnett of Coral Gables has been named vice president of the Florida National Bank and Trust Company at Miami.

Air Force Airman Terrence P. McCoy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry D. McCoy of 19905 SW 87th Pl., has been selected for training at Keesler AFB, Miss., in the communications electronics field after completing basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas. Airman McCoy is a 1973 graduate of Palmetto High School. Ambucare V.P. A. David Russell, III has been appointed Vice President, Marketing with Ambucare International, Inc. the Miami base medical development company. His responsibilities will include development of outpatient ambulatory surgical facilities throughout the Americas. General agent Fernando Valverde has completed the first Georgia International Life Sales Institute, held at the company's home office in Atlanta recently. Mrs. Valverde, as general agent, will present the company in Coral Gables and surrounding area. Business Communicators South Florida's Association of Business Communicators recently elected five Greater Miami journalists as officers for 1977. Jay D. Gartman communications coordinator for Florida Power and Light, was elected president of the 29-member group. Rolf D. Koecher, media coordinator for Dow Chemical-Latin America, was elected vice president-programs. Linda H. Lundin, public information director for the United Way of Dade County, was named to the post of vice president of members. Judy Stanton, director of public relations for Mt. Sinai Hospital, was elected director of chapter affairs. Eleanore C. Woster, editor of Coral Gables Federal's employe newspaper, was elected secretary-treasurer.
