Ransom to play Yonge in Grove game for MS benefit

Ransom-Everglades' football team is playing ball this season with a twofold purpose. Besides competing for the State Class 2A championship, the Raiders are helping to defeat Multiple Sclerosis, the mysterious crippler of young adults. In addition to collecting money at pep rallies and football games, team captains Warren Weiser, Scott Shaw, and Jim Reynolds suggested hosting a bowl game to benefit the MS Society. On Saturday, Nov. 27 at 10:30 a.m., Ransom will play P.K. Yonge High School, Gainesville, at the Robert Walker Field, Ransom-Everglades School, 3545 Main Highway, Coconut Grove. Tickets for the post-season game between these two schools will be $1 apiece and may be purchased at Ransom or at the gate prior to the game. While the entire football team at Ransom has been involved in the effort to raise funds for the MS Society, one athlete in particular has a special interest. David Mogul, star quarterback for the Raiders, will be playing his last game on Nov. 27 for Ransom. His mother Diane Mogul, a resident of South Miami and a Multiple Sclerosis patient, has been an ardent supporter of the team.
