Help Us, Please
DEAR TIMES READERS: Hello. We want you to help us. What we're looking for is more news to put into the Times. You thought we had a staff to gather news? We do. But they don't know many of the things you do and we'll never know unless you tell us. And unless you do that so we can print, other Gableites will never know either. Many people hesitate to call a newspaper. "Who am I to be doing this?" they ask themselves. Don't be bashful. We're just ordinary folks around here looking for ways to make this a better paper. And we want you to help. But what is news? News is anything that interests or affects people. For the women's pages, we are particularly interested in names . . . who's married, who's visiting, who had a party (with a list of the guests), who's had a baby, who's proud of the new patio they built behind the house. You see it doesn't have to be the stop-the-press variety. Not much of that ever happens anyway except on television. Just the day to day things, the events that make life pleasant and meaningful, the activities that reflect our community and our families. That's what we're interested in. Give us a call (HI 3-1661) or write us a letter (Box 580) or come by (364 Sevilla Ave.). We want to have a newsier newspaper with your help. ROLFE NEILL Editor & Publisher

Gablegrams
by helen reynolds society editor James B. Moore and his wife Mary left this week for their home in Garden City, N.Y. after a visit with friends and relatives. Driving a new red Rambler convertible, they will pause in Orlando for a visit with Mary's dad. Jim, a former editor of the Times, is executive with the far-flung Scan-O-Graver's five divisions. He was leaving the very next day (after arrival home) for California. The Moores were guests at parties by old friends while here. Funniest episode, was the surprise 25th wedding anniversary buffet, given for Marge and Lee Gebhardt, 711 Valencia Ave. It was to be a surprise to the Gebhardts. The buffet was held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Grover A. J. Noetzel in South Miami. However, nothing would budge Lee until his harried "bodyguards" Jim and Al Harum, told him the truth. Others in the party were the John Hallifaxes, Mrs. Willa Croft, and Henry Simmonite. Having never seen their two grandsons, born in Norway, Al and Julia Harum, are leaving Sunday for Europe, also with the mis Al's mother, Mrs. Richard Nesbitt. They are flying over and will catch their first glimpse of U.S. Air Force and Mrs. James Davidson Harum's two sons, Dayne, 15-months-old, and Kirk, born this April. As for Mrs. Nesbitt she will be visiting her native country, her second trip home in 30 years. They will be away about 10 days. Now here's an idea: Chi Omega Alums will discuss ways and means for 'summertime in Miami' when they meet Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Stanton Shaffer in South Miami.
Dr. Dolan Marries Girl From Pa.
New residents of Coral Gables will be Dr. and Mrs. William Wilson Dolan, whose wedding was an event of Saturday in Hanover, Pa. The bride, the former Miss Jane Marie Warren, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer W. Warren of Hanover, where the 4 p.m. ceremony took place. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of re-embroidered Alencon lace and pure silk organza, floor length with chapel train. Her voluminous illusion veil, in pouff fashion, fell from a crown of pearls, and she carried a bouquet of white orchids, stephanotis and ivy in cascade fashion. David Brown of Hanover was organist. Mrs. Grace Tobin, aunt of the groom was matron of honor. She wore a beige lace gown with sheath skirt and carried a crescent of pink roses and ivy. Dr. Donald B. Dolan, of Lakeland was best man for his brother, and Dr. Wallace Fisher, officiated at the 4 p.m. double ring ceremony. A graduate of the University of Miami, the bride is publicity assistant at the Florida Power and Light Co. The groom, a graduate of Syracuse and Columbia Universities, is practicing dentistry in Coral Gables. After a honeymoon trip through the New England states and Canada, the couple will reside at 1201 Campo Sano Ave.
