Sandra Townsend, Gordon Schwieger Exchange Vows
MRS. GORDON SCHWIEGER Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Townsend of 5820 Augusto St., announce the marriage of their daughter, Sandra Elaine, to Gordon Lloyd Schwieger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schwieger of 1774 Opeechee Dr., Coconut Grove. The Shenandoah Presbyterian Church was the setting for the Saturday evening nuptials, with the Rev. J. Wayte Fulton Jr. officiating. The reception followed in the Iverson Building of the church. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a bridal gown of white silk peau de soie designed along Edwardian era lines. Bracelet-length sleeves and a Sabrina neckline featured the bodice and the aisle-wide skirt folded back into a Watteau train. Her imported French silk illusion veil fell from a small cap of silk roses and she carried white roses and stephanotis, and a handkerchief made in 1892 by the groom's grandmother, which has been featured in several weddings of kimfolk. Gail Hudson was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Dottie Seipp and Ann Thomason, roommate of the bride at Stetson University. They wore gowns made alike of fern-green silk organza, matching accessories and carried bouquets of pink roses and babys' breath. David Crossett, a student at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, was best man. Ushers were John Skogstad and William M. Stubbs of Coral Gables. The bride's mother wore a pink linen and lace gown with matching accessories. Mother of the groom wore a blue embroidered linen dress and matching accessories. Both Matrons wore white orchids. All of the assistants at the reception complemented their ensembles with pink carnations and baby breath corsages. They were Susie Wright, Mrs. J. M. Eady, Mrs. A. A. Sakhnovsky, Mrs. Caroline Ferguson, Mrs. Robert Faust and Mrs. Milton Poole. Among the out of town guests at the wedding were the G. T. Wilson family of Ft. Lauderdale; the Donald Wright family of St. Petersburg; Mrs. J. R. Bevis, grandmother of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph R. Bevis, their children, Ronald, and Cheryl Ann, all of Homestead; Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Stubbs of Heidelberg, Germany; and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Robertson of Sarasota, also Tracy Pressner of Tampa. The bride was graduated from Coral Gables High School and attended Stetson University. The groom graduated at Miami High School and is now doing his tour of duty with the U.S. Navy. After a few days honeymoon in Florida, the couple will reside in Buxton, N.C., where the groom will be stationed at Cape Hatteras. Among prenuptial parties honoring the bride was a buffet and family party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. V. S. Thomason; a miscellaneous shower, given by Mrs. J. D. Reeves, and a linen shower given by Mrs. Robert Seipp, both for the bride, and a coffee given by Mrs. V. A. Thomason, and daughter, Ann.
