MRS. J. F. STRAIGHT
Dr. and Mrs. Straight To Live on Santillane
Off on a Jamaican honey-moon are Dr. and Mrs. Jacob Frederick Straight following their wedding Saturday at the First Methodist Church of Coral Gables. They will reside at 130 Santillane Ave. on their return. The bride, the former Miss Mary Frances McKenzie, is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jack Alexander McKenzie, of 444 S. W. 30th Rd. The groom is the son of Mrs. J. F. Straight, of 1415 N.W. First St., and the late Mr. Straight. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of silk taffeta and re-embroidered Alencon lace designed on princess lines, with fitted bodice, brief sleeves and floor length skirt ending in a full aisle wide train. Her many tiered veil fell from a plateau type headpiece of the lace and taffeta, and she carried an arm bouquet of Fuji mums. The bride's five attendants wore gowns made alike of sky blue chiffon, trimmed in Copen blue made ballerina length, and carried cascades of lavender Fuji mums. The were Mrs. Paul H. Buhler Jr. of Coconut Grove, matron of honor, and bridesmaids Jean Duckett, Mary Ann Knauer, and Suzanne Straight, niece of the groom. Sara Jane Straight was junior bridesmaid and Leslie Jones and Summer Dowda were flower girls. Dr. William M. Straight, brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Charles K. Richmond, Gerald A. Raap, Samuel B. Crispin, Walter B. Wilson Jr., Joseph A. DuPree, R. Mills McNeel, John McNutt, W. Clark Brick and Charles E. Matthews. Norman M. Pate Jr., cousin of the bride, was junior usher. The Rev. Dr. John Howard Hanger officiated at the 4:30 p.m. ceremony and the reception followed at the Riviera Country Club. The bride attended Randolph-Macon Woman's College, and was graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, N.C., where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She is a member of the Spinsters Club, the Guild of the Museum of Science and Natural History, the Coral Gables Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Riviera Country Club. The groom was graduated from the University of Florida, the University of Louisville Dental School, Louisville, Ky., and did graduate work at the University of Illinois. He was a member of Psi Omega, dental fraternity and Omicron Kappa Upsilon, honorary dental society. He is a member of the Bachelors Club, the Coral Gables Country Club, and the Kings Bay Yacht and Country Club. His offices are in Coral Gables.
John Ryan Promoted
John J. Ryan, of 6717 Tarrega, has been appointed general commercial manager for the state of Georgia by Bell Telephone Co. He plans to fly to Atlanta Sunday. The family, Mrs. Ryan (formerly Jean Overstreet of Miami); Janet, 8; John, 6; Jeffery, 5; and James, 3; will join him later. He is a native of New York and a graduate of Manhattan College. He began his telephone career in Miami, in 1947.

Newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. William Bishop of 2718 Alhambra Cir., explore the beautiful gardens of the Nassau Beach Hotel in the capital of the Bahamas. Gables Students' Recital A Hit at Fontainebleau
People filled the French and Jade Suite of the Fontainebleau Hotel last month when 75 piano students were presented in two recitals by their teacher, Mrs. Davis Hess.
