CG Firemen Will Dance, Sing at 'Biggest' Ball

Coral Gables firemen expect to have their 10th and best ball tomorrow (Friday) night at the Coral Gables Country Club. More than 12,000 invitations have bee tut by the Firemen's Benevolent Assn. to citizens. Reigning will be Miss Flame, Jeanne Gehm, 18, 4385 SW 97th Ave., picked by the Jaycees. She is a UM freshman. Dancing to the rhythms of Les Rhodes and his orchestra will begin at 9 p.m. Interspersed will be professional entertainment staged by Jack and Marilyn Nagel. The show, according to publicity chairman, I. T. Williams is similar to those staged in Las Vagas by the Nagels. Three production members are scheduled. Firemen will romp in a specialty number called "The Fireflies." The local firefighters have been working on their routine for weeks and their choreography is "delightful," Williams said Intermissing will be fireman Dick Bishop and his combo. The annual ball will trot to a stop at 1 a.m.

$175,000 for Home On Granada Blvd. Tops CG Building

A $175,000 home helped boost last week's building permits to $265,434, according to Building Official R. S. Fralick. The new residence is being constructed by Harrison Construction Co. for Newgate Corp. at 6695 Granada Blvd. Architect is Doverman and Associates. Land values are not included in permit totals. Ponce Alhambra Corp., southwest corner of Alhambra Circle and Ponce de Leon Boulevard, alterations, $15,000. Roscoe C. C. Pauley, 1010 Country Club Prado, screen enclosure, $600. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Fletcher, 6304 San Vincente St., addition and alterations, $4,900. Andrew Leone, 500 Avenue Madeira, residence, $16,850.
