Sigma Chi Mothers At First Meet

The Sigma Chi Mothers' Club held its first meeting of the year at the home of Mrs. Harold Sevigny, 7820 SW 132-Ter. Twenty five members were present at a pot luck supper, Oct. 10. Mrs. Don Sinclair is president. Mrs. Herman Wirshing, first vice president, Mrs. Lloyd Solie second vice president. Mrs. Harold Sevigny, is recording secretary and Mrs. E. W. Pritchard, corresponding secretary. Mrs. W. L. Huds is treasurer. Mrs. Irene Orr, fraternity house mother, gave a talk on activities in the fraternity house. She reported that the new "no drinking" law has met with very good response. There has been no resentment from the boys and the drinkless parties are going over, she said. Board of Governors, Beach Colony Club, elected Lee Mahan, 5375 Orduna Dr., the club president last night (Wednesday) at the annual board of governors meeting held at the home of the Carl Blohm's 4821 Granada Blvd. G. G. Lee, 6007 Granada Blvd., was named vice-presndent. First fall party is Nov. 11, at the Hibiscus Island Club. Clarice Busch, 345 Velarde Ave., has been awarded four record albums for her prize-winning entry in the Sta-Flo liquid starch contest whose catch was, "What's the Baby Saying?"

Mrs. Edith Gash Archer won first prize for her tall hat, a miniature piano, in her classification at the Quota International fifth conference held last weekend at Palm Beach. Ann J. Smith won third prize for her hat, a miniature telephone and dozens of colored wires. They are members of the Coral Gables Quota Club, International.
