Ehly, 1031 Alfonso Ave. The church's 277 families were asked to donate the money they normally would spend for cards to church projects. (Times photos by Raymond Lang)

City, CC Try To Stop 'Tour' Suit

City and Chamber of Commerce attorneys are attempting to have a tour map infringement suit thrown out of Federal District Court on technicalities. The suit was filed Aug. 8 by W. L. Larson, former publisher of the "Self-Guided Tour" maps, against the City, the Chamber, John Giffen, recent publisher of the map, and Parker Printing, 303 Alcazar, printers of the map involved. Larson was forced to amend his suit when defense attorneys pointed out that the suit was brought in the name of Larson, rather than the name of the company-Larson Inc. No date was set for a second hearing after defense attorneys were granted a delay.

City Votes Down Coin Laundry

A request for a new coin-operated launderette at the northeast corner of Red Road and San Ignacio Avenue has been turned down by the Coral Gables Zoning Board. The application by Sheldon Dubler, the owner of the property, was for a change in zoning from CC commercial use to M commercial use. A move to hold a public hearing on the proposal was voted down 3-2 by the board. The board then voted 3-2 against the launderette.
