Mrs. Alex McIntosh, 2916 Granada Blvd., will be hostess today (Thursday) for the West End Garden Club's annual Christmas party. A covered dish luncheon will follow the morning meeting. ★ ★ ★ The Junior Girls Club (sponsored by the Coral Gables Junior Woman's Club) will dress as Santa's helpers and help entertain 28 indigent dental clinic children patients at the C.G. Woman's club 3 p.m. today (Thursday). In complete charge of the program, the Juniors will set up a tree, serve refreshments and provide a movie, "Silent Night." ★ ★ ★ Miss Margaret Linda-Lee Brock, a junior student at Monticello College, Alton, Ill., will spend the Christmas holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Brock, 1236 Algardi Ave. ★ ★ ★ The Republican gals are blowing the "elephant's" trumpet and taking time by the "donkey's" tail. They announce new officers for the Republican Women's Club of Coral Gables. They are Mrs. Anna Johnson, 10 Santilane Ave., president; Miss Mildred Harrott, 5816 SW 42nd Ter., vice president; Mrs. Josephine M. Hahne, 20 Minorca Ave., second vice president; Mrs. Hulda Finerty, 235 Majorca Ave., secretary and Mrs. Cline Million, 4406 San Amaro Dr., treasurer. The club has 60 active members. ★ ★ ★ Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Tutan of 4900 The Mall, celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary, Dec. 6, with a family dinner at Hurricane Harbor Lounge. Guests were their two married sons and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. George Victor Tutan of Southwest 27th Lane; and Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Tutan Jr., 5709 Riviera Dr. The Tutans have five grandchildren, the eldest, five and youngest, three months. ★ ★ ★ Annual ramble at Fairchild Tropical Garden held recently brought in $17,000, according to Mrs. Alvin R. Jennings, 11901 Old Cutler Rd., who said the sales were "gratifying."

Natalie McCleskey, Gables coed at Barry College, will play Mary in the nativity scene presented by the school Natalie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy K. McCleskey, 1210 Catalonia Ave.

The program will be Sunday, 8:15 p.m., at the College Auditorium on North Miami Ave. and 115th Street. ★ ★ ★ Mary Helm Clarke, 1249 Milan Ave. talked on Florida History, stressing headlines and history Monday before the members of the Col. William Carroll Lee Chapter, U.S. Daughters of 1812, at the Miami Woman's Club. ★ ★ ★ Everyone of the family of four in the family of Dr. Ralph Engle Jr., of Pelham Manor, N.Y. works. However, they are about to relax. They will be here to spend the Christmas holidays with his mother in Coral Gables. Dr. Engle is the son of Mrs. Ralph Engle, 1207 Columbus Blvd., and the late Dr. Engle. He is on the staff of the Cornell Medical Center and the New York Hospital Medical Center in cancer research and haematology. His wife, Dr. Mary Allen Engle, is a specialist in Pediatrics and heart. Their children are Ralph III, 11, and Marilyn, 9. Mrs. Engle, mother of Ralph Jr., is a writer who has won honors in poetry. She was poet laureate of the CG Woman's Club, writes lyrics and is presently working on her third song with composer Olive Dungan (Mrs. Claude) Pullen of Miami. ★ ★ ★ Omicron Delta Kappa, national honorary at Florida State University which accords recognition for outstanding service in leadership and courage announced Thursday the tapping of 12 new members, including Tom Schultz. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord W. Schultz, 1525 Delgado Ave. ★ ★ ★ Coral Gables Music Club members will listen to Grand Opera airs, at their annual Christmas meeting Tuesday afternoon at the Coral Gables Woman's Club. Sylvia Carlisle, soprano, and Mary S. Sevitzky, insutroctor in harp at the University of Miami will be the entertainers. ★ ★ ★ Paul Pepin, choirmaster at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, will present the choir in a program of Christmas Carols Monday at 8 p.m. when the Home and School Association meets in the school cafeteria. The public is invited. Mrs. Francisco Montana is chairman. ★ ★ ★ The Keyboard Club will install new officers at a Christmas party tomorrow (Friday) at the home of Bob Basten, 425 Aledo Ave. Bob is the new corresponding secretary of the club. Mrs. Ruth Lockhart will tell the Christmas s y, "Why the Chimes Rang." Mrs. Ray Basten, Bob's mother, is counsellor for the group. ★ ★ ★ E. D. Rogers Jr., 11-year-old 6th grader at the Coral Gables Elementary School, has been granted a junior membership in the American Angus Association at St. Joseph, Mo. E. D.'s parents reside at [?]0 Hernando St., have a rancat Wauchula.
