Simone Del Vecchio Weds Frederick Blaine Thorpe
MRS. FREDERICK THORPE. On an up-state honeymoon trip are Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Blaine Thorp who exchanged rings and vows Saturday at St. Philip's Eipscopal Church. The bride, the former Miss Simone Del Vecchio, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Del Vecchio of 1036 Palermo Ave. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Smithey of 2120 N. W. 22nd Court. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown entirely fashioned in French lace over taffeta. The fitted bodice with scoop neck line, etched in iridescents had long, point-at-hand sleevbs. The bouffant skirt short at front hem line was draped to the back to touch the floor. Her voluminous veil of silk illusion fell from a crown of pearls and she carried a bouquet of red roses centered with white sweetheart roses. Miss Ellen Knutsun was maid of honor. Mary Jean Del Vecchio, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. The honor maid wore a ballerina-length gown of turquoise chiffon with pouffed skirt, matching headclip of Swiss braid and veil. Junior bridesmaid wore coral chiffon over matching taffeta with bow at shirred bodice and brief sleeves. Frank Del Vecchio, brother of the bride, was best man. Ushers were Kenneth Fischer and Charles Livaudias. The Rev. John G. Shirley officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony and the reception followed in the gardens of the bride's home. The mother of the bride wore a gown of light blue chiffon with great coat of deep blue velvet. The mother of the groom was in a lacy, blue, cocktail-length gown with matching accessories and both matrons wore white sweetheart roses corsage. The bride was graduated from Coral Gables High School. The groom attended schools in North Carolina. He served a three-year tour of duty as a paratrooper in Germany. He is now in the aircraft engineering department of Aerodex.
