Attempted Break Thwarted
A ladder and a long piece of rope are mute evidence that a break into a beauty shop and the offices of Southern Bell Telephone Co. was thwarted Sunday. Nothing was reported stolen in either place. Frank E. Heins, owner of Ellen Heins Slenderizing and Beauty Salon, 254 Alhambra Cir., reported to Gables police that he found the ladder and rope at 7 a.m. Police found evidence of an attempted break. Telephone company officials reported several minor thefts in recent weeks, but there wasn't any proof the two were related.
