Entertaining at one of the large parties are James N. McArthur and Mrs. Willa Waller, whose dinner guests are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Tait, Dr. and Mrs. Carl Midkiff, and Mr. and Mrs. Ned Graham. Horter, Mrs. Horter and their guest Mrs. A. B. Bowser. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Philbrick will have Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Dulaney as their guests, and at the same table will be the Francis LaVingnes. Miller and Mrs. Miller. * * * JACK JONES, who is more at home with children (he has eight) than grownups, resides with his wife, Olive, and their big family in one of Coral Gables' picturesque landmarks at 1100 South Greenway Dr. He also knows all about summer camps. He owns three in Alabama and in addition a ranch here called the Valley View Ranch, stocked with riding horses at Sunset Road and S.W. 118th Street. Last Saturday he gave a chicken barbeque and dance for 224 boys and girls, all resident children who attend the three summer camps, owned by Jack Jones. Jack Jones Jr., 18, who attends the University of Florida, assisted his dad at the party. For amusement they had games and a hayride and looked at Dr. Reid's 1915 Ford. After supper they danced in the clubhouse and Jack said, "You should have seen them do the twist. With the kids it looks graceful." In addition to Jack Jr., there are Nancy, 16; Oliver, 15 (at Gables High), Marsha, 12; Janice, 9; Michael, 8; Gary, 3 and Angela, just 3 1/2 months old.

UM Presents English Comedy at Ring
The University of Miami Ring Theater will present an English comedy, "Grammer Gurton's Needle," as its second production of the graduate directing program today (Thursday) through Sunday. The play, riotous farce in which the loss of a needle touches off a chain of events, was first printed in 1575 and is described on its title page as a "right pithy, pleasant, and merry comedy." Although its writer was anonymous, authorship is generally attributed to William Stevenson. Graduate student Paula Miller is directing this production. Gilbert Spevack plays Diccon, Arnie Cohen, Hodge; Beryl Emmer, Tib; and Lin Peterson, Gammer Gurton. Other members of the cast are Barry Startz, David Kameny, Joanna Huffer, Frank Schuller, Henry Bassman, Loni Schnitzer, and a pussycat named Jib.
