Baby Coming, Siren Wails And Bus Gets in the Way
A Coral Gables policeman escorting an expectant mother to the hopspital crashed into a City bus early Tuesday morning, slightly injuring the bus driver and two passengers. The unidentified mother, traveling by separate auto, reportedly made it to the hospital on time, but officer George Limbey, had to stay behind at the intersection of Douglas Road and Coral Way. Injured on the bus were the driver, Isaac Walter Little, 42, of 10511 SW 50th Ter.; and passengers, Ella G. Lesene, 37, 266 NW Eighth St. and Albert W. Simpson, 84, 2021 NW 19th Ave. The bus driver, westbound on Coral Way, said he did not hear the police siren or see the flashing light on the southbound police cruiser. No estimate of damage to the bus or police car was available. No charges were filed in the accident.
