Hank Foley, 418 Mendosa Ave., who raced his sail, the "Eastern Air" in the 24th annual Miami-Nassau race, boats came in 11th. He is pictured with his wife Sandy. * * * Marilyn Kaufman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard O. Kaufman, 1215 San Ignacio Ave., and a freshman at the Florida Presbyterian College, St. Petersburg, will be a member of the college choir of 40 voices beginning its spring tour. Marilyn, a Coral Gables High School graduate, is majoring in religion. * * * Anthony Martin Cook, son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas James Cook, 5515 Orduna Dr., was awarded the bachelor of science degree at the close of the first semester at the University of Wisconsin in February. * * * Lisa Elizabeth Schmick, who was born Feb. 5 at Doctors' Hospital, weighed in at 10 lbs. and 8 ounces. She's the first child of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Schmick, 615 Anastasia Ave. Visiting are the great-aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. George Senderhauf; and the parents of Mrs. Schmick, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kuebler, all of the Milwaukee area. Lisa's paternal grandmother, Mrs. Dorothy Schmick, lives in the same apartment building, one floor above. * * * Navy Ens. Gary D. Hopps, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton L. Hopps, 50 Salamanca Ave., completed his solo flight in mid-February at the Saufley D Field Naval Auxiliary Air Station, Pensacola. * * * Col. Paul M. Crawford, M.D. 1415 Genoa St., alumnus of the Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University, Chicago, has been named chairman of the local alumni chapter to support the school's loyalty fund appeal. He is a graduate of the L.M.S. class of 1912. Assisting him will be Dr. Benjamin E. Schwarez, 1510 Baracoa Ave. * * * Ann Dinsmore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Dinsmore, 600 San Juan Dr., has been named social chairman of Gamma Mu chapter, Delta Gamma Sorority, at Florida State University. Ann, is a junior majoring in elementary and early childhood education. * * * Miss Avril Dewey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dewey, 917 Tangier St., has been initiated into Pi Phi Rho, honorary personal appearance, fashion and retailing organization, at Stephens College, Columbia, Mo. Two Tie In Best Boll

Coral Gables Country Club Women's Golf Association turned out 64 people Friday to play best ball foursome and there were 32 teams making the rounds. Tying with two teams carding a 30 for first place were Mrs. Robert Grant and Mrs. J. K. Cole; Mrs. William Vanderbilt and Mrs. L. C. Lee. Three teams tied with a 31 for second place. They were Mrs. R. E. Paperson and Mrs. Glenn Wood; Mrs. John Finerty and Mrs. Albert Bachman; Miss Carolyn Duffield and Mrs. Pat Watson.

Benefit Buffet

A fund-rising buffet supper is planned April 7 by the Coral Gables Woman's Club to help school children in Cartagena, Colombia. The 6:30 p.m. supper, to be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Shaw, is being arranged by the International Affairs Department of the club. Admission will be by donation and funds will be used to purchase cooking stoves.

The United Fund has cited the City of Coral Gables for going over the top on its pledges to the fund. A certificate was presented to Mayor Robert L. Searle.
