Cesarano to Head Golf
Patrick J. Cesarano, Coral Gables general insurance agent, has accepted the chairmanship of the Coral Gables Open golf tournament for 1962. He succeeds ex-mayor John Montgomery who piloted the tournament through the first three years of its existence. Cesarano is an ardent golfer, former president of Riviera and member of Palmetto and Coral Gables country clubs. He has been a sponsor of the Coral Gables Open in each previous year. A resident of the area since his graduation from the University of Miami in 1935, the new chairman is president of Southern Underwriters, Inc. He lives at 4750 Sunset Dr. The 1962 dates for this PGA co-sponsored tournament are December 6-7-8-9. There will be a Pro-Am tournament on Dec. 5. As in previous years, the event is being staked financially by the City of Coral Gables, although popular support has made it a community project. Past year 151 sponsors chipped in $150 each to support the tournament. A bronze plaque, in memory of the completion of the Lindberg Circle, will be presented to the founders at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 30, at the main terminal of the Miami International Airport. Members of the American Air Mail Society are in Miami for their 39th annual convention at the Seville Hotel in Miami Beach. Captain Basil Rowe, 743 Alhambra Circle, who did the pioneer work with Charles A. Lindberg, will be present at the dedication. William F. Raven, also of Miami, and manager of the Latin American Division of Pan American Airways, will represent Pan Am and its later contribution to the Circle's progress. Alan C. Stewart, 8200 SW 97th St., who has directed the completion of the plaque, will also be present with Authority commissioners. Stewart is Dade County Port Authority Director. The Lindberg Circle allowed speedy transfer of mail between two main routes to Central and South America. PATRICK J. CESARANO

Child Starting School? He Needs Birth Record
Your child can miss an entire year of school unless you obtain a birth certificate for him or her quickly, according to the Florida State Board of Health. "The longer parents wait to make application for first-graders, which must be in writing, the more chance of delay because of the last minute rush," says Everett H. Williams Jr., director of the State Board of Health's Bureau of Vital Statistics. Williams also said the bureau expects to have more than 100,000 applications this year with the peak coming in August, and that so far only 40,500 certificates have been issued. Applications must include the full name of the child, full name of the father, full maiden name of the mother. Also entered must be the child's day, month and year (city and county) of birth, sex and race. The original birth certificate number should be included. If the child was born in another state, the certificate must be obtained from that state. The Board also advises that parents have the child's complete immunizations and boosters up-to-date before the school year begins.

All the parts are on hand or on tap. (That's why VW service is fast and cheap.) A fuel pump is $9.95*. A rear fender, $17.50*. Plus installation. But what impresses people most about our service is how we treat them. Like a customer. Even for a 10c fuse. The VW is built like a $5,000 car. Why shouldn't it get service like one?
