Newlywedded Halls Pennsylvania Bound
MRS. JOHN D. HALL Mr. and Mrs. Paul H. Weise of Bridgeville, Pa., announce the marriage of their daughter, Sarah Eleanor to John Denton Hall, son of Mrs. John D. Hall, of 6018 San Vincente St., Coral Gables and the late Mr. Hall, which took place in the Weise home. The house was beautifully decorated in pink and white roses, ivy and greens, for the afternoon wedding. The Rev. Dwight G. Townsend officiated at 1:30 p.m. double ring ceremony and the reception followed. The bride, a graduate of Chatham College, Pittsburgh, chose a floor length gown of white silk organza over taffeta and net, designed with fitted bodice, Sabrina neck line etched in appliques of Alencon lace. Her voluminous veil of illusion fell from a head piece of the material covered with seed pearls and she carried a cascade of pink and white roses and ivy. Mrs. Edmund R. Weise, sister-in-law of the bride as matron of honor wore a green silk with matching accessories and carried pink roses and ivy. A niece, Claudia Ann Weise as flower girl carried a basket of daisies, roses and ivy. David Hall, brother of the groom was best man and ushers were Fred G. Geil and Edmund R. Weise. After a Southern wedding trip the couple will reside on South Negley Ave., Pittsburgh. The groom, a graduate of Carnegie Institute of Technology is presently a metalurgist with the U.S. Steel Company. Mrs. Hall, who was present for her son's wedding, and his brother, David who served as an usher have returned to their Coral Gables home.

Miss Rood Engaged To Rabbinical Student
Colonel and Mrs. Nathan B. Rood, of 845 Catalonia Ave., announce the engagement of their daughter, Carol Joyce to Steven Bennett Jacobs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Israel Jacobs of Brookline, Mass. No date has been set for the wedding. The bride-elect has completed her sophomore year at Wheaton College, Norton, Mass., where she is majoring in sociology. She plans to continue her studies toward a B.A. degree at Wheaton and she was appointed as an instructor in swimming during the past year. Her extra curricular activities also included the Dramatic Club and the Democratic Club of the college. Her fiance is a graduate of New York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He is now a student at the Hebrew Union College, at Cincinnati, preparing for the rabbinate. He is a member of Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. MISS ROOD
Sec'ys Meet Today
The Coral Gables Country Club will be the setting at 7 p.m. today for the Coral Gables Chapter, National Secretaries Association (International) dinner and monthly meeting. Mrs. Caroline Humphrey, the new president, will preside and, an orientation program conducted by last year's committee chairman will highlight the meeting.

These Are Biltmore Winners
The tournament was better nine-half handicap played in classes Thursday and the Biltmore Women's Golf Association were the players. In Class A Mrs. R. S. Jarvis won with 33 1/2; Mrs. H. Miller was second with a 38. In Class B Mrs. John Roll won with a 36 1/2 and Mrs. Laurence Funderburg was second with a 37 1/2. Mrs. A. Glover and Mrs. H. B. Royall tied with a 38 for third.
Frank D. Popp, assistant professor of chemistry at the University of Miami, is taking part in the Eighth National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium of the American Chemical Society at the University of Colorado.
