36 Youths Touring With Choir
Thirty-six Coral Gables and South Miami youths, members of the University Baptist Church Chapel Choir are on a four-state tour. The choir, under the direction of Minister of Music Cecil L. Harper, 3291 Riviera Dr., will then left recently on a tour of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, returning July 7. Assisting Harper with the tour will be Mrs. Dorothy Jones, Dr. R. A. Rasco, and Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Steele. Members from 15 to 17 years old of the choir are: Pat Bragg, Linda Brooks, Nancy Basten, Bill Brown, Pat Carnes, Mike and Paula Chesser, David Cooper, Betty DelMenzo, David Falkins, Linda Gaylord, Jimmy Giffin, Dorothy Gregory, Ed and Joe Hall, Linda Harris, Mike Henry, Helen Herko, Andrea Latta, Sharon Lester, Dorothy Lester, Jane Mahone, Lynn and Mary Lou Makenzi, Judy Nulwell. Thory Beeche, Minta Severud, Sunny Peterson, Joyce Parker, James Peeples, Diana Zacharias, Barbara Woodworth, Karen Underwood, Mary Belle Trout, Dorma Sisk, and Steve Scherer. The choir has spent the past week rehearsing at the Casablanca Hotel.

Temple Judea Schedules Special Classes for Deaf
Deaf and hard-of-hearing children will be able to attend Sunday School throughout the summer as a result of a weekly program sponsored by Temple Judea's Sisterhood. First session will begin Saturday, June 23, 11 a.m. to noon, at one of the Temple's classrooms, 320 Palermo Ave., Coral Gables. Except for a $2.50 charge for materials, there is no fee. Openings for additional children are available. Mrs. Nancy Feldman who has majored in speech correction and teaches at Tropical Elementary School, outlines the Bible and holiday traditions curriculum to parents and children during a preliminary meeting.
Henshaw Ordained In Tenn.
W. David Henshaw, son of Mrs. Marion Henshaw of 318 Majorca Ave., and R. E. Henshaw of South Miami was ordained a minister of the Baptist faith in ceremonies on Sunday afternoon June 10 at the First Baptist Church in Morristown, Tenn. The Rev. Mr. Henshaw is a native of Coral Gables, a graduate of Coral Gables High School. He took his theological training at Carson Newman College, Jefferson City, Tenn., and has been assigned to the Fort Baptist Church, Jefferson City, Tenn. The young minister is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Meigs, longtime residents of Coral Gables and South Miami, and he has three brothers, Robert, Roger, and Donald, all of Coral Gables.

William Copp; Sales Engineer
Services for William Maxwell Copp, 46, of 1424 Obispo Ave., who died Wednesday, were held Saturday in Van Orsdel's Coral Gables Mortuary. He came here 11 years ago from Atlanta and was a sales engineer for the Florida-Georgia Tractor Company. He was a member of the Coral Gables Country Club. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn, two daughters, Sue and Gayle and his father, William Copp of Illinois. Burial was in Miami Memorial Park.
Squires Select Latane Parker
Our Lady of Good Council Circle of the Columbian Squires, in Coral Gables, recently completed the election of their 1962-63 officers. The office of chief squire (president) went to Latane Parker of 6050 SW 109th St. Eugene Starke was elected the new deputy chief squire and Robert Myer was named the new notary (secretary). The treasurer's keys went to Henry Bezold. Timothy Fleming, John Majewski and Douglas Wronske were elected auditors.

Wesley Methodist Church Readies Its 16th Birthday
Wesley Methodist Church, Ponce de Leon Blvd., hopes to celebrate its 16th birthday and the opening of its new $55,000 classroom building on the same day early in October, Rev. W. L. Joiner said Tuesday. Work on the new addition began last month. Avant Construction Company was the low bidder and was awarded the contract for $49,000. Designer of the structure is George Fink, 255 University Dr. The new wing will house nine classrooms, offices, a library, and should accommodate the entire youth sunday school division.
