Miss Betty Ann Garner of Jacksonville, and bride-elect of Paul S. Wooley Jr., is the weekend house guest of her fiance and his parents, the Paul S. Wooleys of 910 Catalonia Ave. Final plans for the marriage which will take place July 21 in Jacksonville are being made during Betty's stay. * * * Fred and Sarah Cole (Mr. and Mrs. that is) of 1027 Astoria Ave., are off to Europe and a month (July) of unusual experiences ahead of them. Now Fred is Dr. Fred E. Cole, pastor of the Coral Gables Congregational Church and he will attend the delegation of International Council of Congregational Churches from July 4 to July 12 in Rotterdam, Holland. Then Fred and Sarah will study at the University of London's summer school course of 20th Century Arts, along with 125 foreign students. The Coles will leave by chartered plane out of New York, Monday, July 2 and will return Aug. 1. * * * Rita (Mrs. James R.) Davant, 1224 Castile Ave., flew to Washington, D.C., to attend the General Federation of Women's Clubs as president of the Coco Plum Woman's Club. Rita is a member, they call themselves the pink birds, of the Flamingo Club, social group whose president is Julie (Mrs. Arthur) Engstrom. The Engstroms are taking a three months tour by trailer (including their three children) out to the far west and to attend the World's Fair in Seattle. * * * Glorie and her husband Robert W. Cook, of 4155 Kiaora Ave., and their two boys are spending the summer at Thousand Islands Park, New York ... and the Robert Jamisons of 314 Catalonia Ave., want their home town paper, The Times, sent to Osterville, Cape Cod, for the summer. "We usually go to the mountains," Mrs. Jamison said "but this year it's the shore." * * * Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Lancaster are honoring their son and new daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard David Lancaster at a reception today (Thursday) at 5:30 p.m. at the Coral Gables Country Club. The bride is the former Miss Joyce Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sharkus and the wedding took place June 2 at the Church of the Little Flower. * * * A bit of nostalgia was noted in a letter from Gail (Mrs. O. J.) Studeman written from their new home in Garden City, N.Y. The Studemans, formerly of 932 Andres Ave., have two sons. Jim is to be married Aug. 17 and he and his bride will live in Coral Gables, while Jim finishes his senior year at the University of Miami. The Studemans' older son, Bill, after his graduation from college, is going back to London for the third summer to work (he likes England) before entering the Navy in late October. * * * June 29 will be the date and the Palmetto Country Club the setting for the last of the Friday evening in June dances to be held for the junior members of the four country Club the setting for the las of he Friday evening in June Riviera, Coral Gables, Coral Reef and Palmetto. Dancing is from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. First of the July dances is July 6 at the Coral Reef.

Miss Diane Thompson Engaged to UM Student

MISS THOMPSON Mr. and Mrs. Terrance J. Thompson, of 5870 SW 50th Street, and Coral Gables, announce the engagement of their daughter, Diane Katherine to Ronald R. Mohat, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Mohat of Cleveland, Ohio. The wedding will take place Friday, June 29 in the afternoon in the Garden of Our Lord, St. James Lutheran Church and the reception will follow at the Coral Gables Country Club. The bride-elect is a graduate of Coral Gables High School. Her fiance, whom she met through her brother, while both were students at the University of Miami, will graduate from the UM in August. The couple plan to reside in Cleveland after their marriage.

Selden Stewart III, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Selden L. Stewart II, of 424 Almeria Ave., is studying for his Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of California, this summer.

They Are New Musicians

New members of the Musicians Club of America, 303 Minorca Ave., since last November include many from Coral Gables. They are Mrs. Julien Balogh, Mrs. C. C. Brown, Mrs. A. W. Dorgen and Eric Dunlop. Also Mr. and Mrs. William Ledue, Mrs. Herbert O. Vance, Mrs. Phyllis Warren, Mrs. Muriel R. Yavis, Mr. and Mrs. Theron Ames, Margaret and Randl Andersen. Dr. Bertha Foster, founder of the club and dean emeritus of the School of Music at the University of Miami, rewarded her UM friend, Edward Clarke, lecturer in esthetics, with a life membership in the club. Clarke has completed his fifth successful season reviewing popular best sellers, each Tuesday morning at the club. Following the final program, 70 of those attending stayed for lunch in the main dinning room and cheered when Clarke presented Dr. Foster with a check for $450 proceeds from this year's reviews.
