Shaffers Marry, Take North Carolina Trip
MRS. H. STANTON SHAFFER. Sisters, nieces and cousins of the bride and groom were among attendants at the wedding Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. H. Stanton Shaffer. The bride, the former Lorraine Hammer, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl William Hammer of 1895 S.W. 14th Ter. The groom is the son of Mrs. Henry Shaffer, 1412 S.W. 13th St., and the late Mr. Shaffer. Rings were exchanged by the couple at the 8 p.m. ceremony held in the Shenandoah Presbyterian Church, with Dr. J. Wayte Fulton, the minister. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a floor-length Princess gown of Chantilly lace with chapel train and bouffant short veil. Mrs. Richard Maloy was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Patricia Hammer, sister-in-law of the bride; Mrs. Jeanne Comfort, sister of the groom; Miss Trudy Feeny, cousin of the bride; and flower girls, Linda Hammer and Janet Comfort, nieces of both the bride and groom. They wore green organza and lace gowns. George Cones Shaffer, brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Harvey Comfort of Maitland, Fla.; Ralphe Haefele, Harry Hammer, Harry Hinckley, Louis King, Richard Maloy, Charles Prather, Richard Shaffer and Victor Tutan. The Iverson Building of the church was the place of the reception. Both mothers of the bride and groom wore green lace gowns. After a wedding trip to North Carolina the couple will reside at 8571 S.W. 30th St. Both the bride and groom are graduates of the University of Miami. The groom also graduated from the University of Chattanooga and did his graduate work at Emory University, Atlanta.
Club Set To Install Officers
Mrs. J. C. DelCamp will be installed as president of the Suburban Garden Club at luncheon ceremonies next Tuesday. Other officers are Mrs. Joseph Barbak, first vice president; Mrs. C. J. Drinkuth, second vice president; Mrs. R. F. Johnston, third vice president. Mrs. H. W. Palmore, corresponding secretary; Mrs. L. B. Hicks, recording secretary; Mrs. P. D. Loyless, treasurer. Mrs. Helen MacAleese will conduct the installation at the I[?]ydium.
